Rack Mounted Load Banks for Data Center Commissioning!<\/h1>\n

THE NEED :<\/h2>\n

In northern Germany, the newly built Data Center of an emergency call center had to be tested under real conditions before it was put into operation.
\nThe client required the testing of two subdomains:
\n– server rooms (including air conditioning and cooling equipment)
\n– Emergency power supply (generators and UPS systems).<\/p>\n

THE SOLUTION :<\/h2>\n

For the simulation in the individual server rooms, a number of 50 pieces of our rack-mounted 7 kW load banks<\/strong><\/a> were distributed and installed by our partner H&N Energien GmbH<\/a><\/strong> and its technicians in the supplied server cabinets. Particular care has been taken in the distribution of load banks in critical areas in order to simulate the real computing environment. As part of the customer’s tests, the functionality and reliability of the air conditioning and cooling units in the server rooms could be tested under load.<\/p>\n

For the load test on the uninterruptible backup power supply , 2 load banks of 650 kW<\/a><\/strong> were required. These were connected by H&N technicians in the LVMDP rooms. The particularity of our industrial load banks is that they can be connected by a lug or by a Powerlock, and this in a cable section of 120 mm2 or 240 mm2.<\/p>\n

After a brief presentation of the devices, the load tests were carried out by the customer. The tests were carried out with different load levels (50%, 75% and 100%) in order to be able to analyze the behavior of the connected loads. This gives on-site teams the opportunity not only to test individual operational processes, but also to determine the performance limits of their own systems.
\nDuring testing under load, if necessary, an H&N service technician<\/strong> will also be available to answer any questions.<\/p>\n

Good to know :<\/span><\/h2>\n

Only the regular performance of load tests can guarantee the functionality of the (emergency) power supply systems. They make it possible to detect problems in time and to remedy them before a breakdown occurs. Indeed, your systems must function in case of emergency!
