Computer room test

Data centers are highly strategic places with equipment – servers, air conditioning, etc. – particularly sensitive to drops in power supply. Maintaining this equipment in operational conditions requires numerous protections and safety means. A UPS, batteries, a generator form the secondary emergency network and need to be tested regularly using a load bank or a discharge bank. The Rentaload benches make it possible to rigorously test the proper functioning of the room’s redundancy.

Furthermore, before putting a data center into production, it is important to carry out a test of the computer room in an operational situation. By simulating the real load of the future servers and by checking that the behavior of the main & secondary network is correct, the operator ensures the correct sizing of his room and compliance with the initial specifications. The best way remains to use load banks (fictitious load) distributed in the future room to simulate the real future load. This means also makes it possible to directly test whether the air conditioning and cooling means are compliant. Load banks for racks are therefore precise and reliable means of checking the reliability of air conditioning. The acceptance of a computer room therefore necessarily involves extensive real tests, the only means of which is a load bank.
