Load bank for testing in hospitals
French regulations (cf. Circular DHOS/E4 n – 2008-114 – of April 7, 2008 relating to the prevention of power cuts in health establishments ) imposes each ERP structure (Establishment Receiving the Public) whose hospitals to ensure, in the absence of the national network, continuity of service for at least 48 hours.
Therefore, clinics, CHU, EPHAD and hospitals are equipped with generators to ensure this electrical availability. This strategic equipment in the event of a cut has the obligation to be operational and reliable as soon as it is called upon. In this way, it is necessary to test them regularly to verify this reliability. This group test can and sometimes must be carried out on a load bank. These tests must be carried out monthly.
